Tell us about
you, AGNE –
what inspires YOU?
FREEDOM, HIKING, TRAVELING, FAMILY AND MUSEUMS. IT’S ALL ABOUT: WORK-LIFE BALANCE.
1. Who are you?
I am Agnė, 29 years old and I love to draw geishas, eat mexican food and plan yet another short getaway.
2. Where are you from and how does that influence your work?
I am originally from Lithuania. But before moving to Germany, I've lived in Barcelona for 4 years. It was a big change as Lithuania and Spain are quite different when it comes to work habits. I was very punctual and strict in my home country but in Spain I became more chill about it. So when I came to work in Berlin it was like coming back to Lithuania.
3. What is your favourite piercing you did at MAYDUNA?
Medusa for Lydia. It was my very first realistic woman face tattoo. I was quite nervous, because realism is no joke, but I was very happy with the end result.
7. What’s your favourite tattoo on your body?
Today I would say my first set of tattoos – 4 sparrows on both of my arms.
8. What would be an absolute dream project?
A series of oriental back pieces – Geisha edition.
9. What do you like most about being a tattoo artist?
I enjoy the development of my wanna dos or custom designs. Starting with brainstorming and then actual tattooing.
10. How would you describe your art in one word?
Soft.
4. How did working at MAYDUNA affect your work-life balance?
Working 4 days a week gives me more freedom to travel, meet my family and just enjoy Berlin.
5. What do you like to do when you’re not working creatively?
I like hiking, visiting museums, restaurants. I am still searching for the best taco place in Berlin. So if you know one, I'm all ears!
6. Who or what influences your art?
Ukiyo-e, art deco style and old school tattoo flashes. Artists like Utamaro, Oscar Hove and Shannon Elliot.
